Society Update

Following the receipt of an online petition from a group of members and non-members called  ‘Action For Bury FC ,’ the board of the Football Supporters’ Society of Bury have convened a Special General Meeting to be held on Tuesday 10th October 2023 at The Elizabethan Suite, Town Hall, Knowsley St, Bury BL9 0SW at 7.30 - 8.30 pm.

The application was submitted by 8% of the total membership which exceeds the 5% threshold required to call for a Special General Meeting.
 
The purpose of this Special General Meeting is to answer questions raised by the applicant  and these questions are set out in the notice of the meeting.
 
Given the specific  nature of the application, no business other than that stated in the notice of the meeting shall be conducted at the meeting.
 
This is a members only meeting so checks will be in place on entry. The Elizabethan Suite holds up 250 people. Doors will be open from 7pm and the event will be ticketed with details to follow. It is expected to take an hour. We will explore the opportunity to stream the meeting for those who can’t attend and will advise further on this.
 
Prior to the meeting, the board will release a statement responding to each question posed by the applicant.

The format of the meeting will be that a panel of the Football Supporters’ Society of Bury board members will be present to take questions relating specifically to that statement and any points of clarification required. Questions will be routed through myself to ensure they comply with the stated business of the Special General Meeting.
