Summary of the FSSB Board Meeting – Wednesday 8 July 2026
The FSSB Board met on 8 July 2026, with eight members in attendance and one member absent with apologies.
Key points of discussion included the following:
1. Conflicts of Interest
There was no change to previously declared interests.
2. Community Opportunities
The Board discussed several funding and community opportunities, including progress on the Lionesses Fund application and a potential DWP Youth Hub project.
3. Members Forum
Preparations for the forthcoming Members’ Forum were discussed. Members will be invited to submit questions in advance, with proposed topics including finance, strategy, membership, community work, advisory boards and sustainability. The Board recognised the importance of allowing sufficient time for member questions and discussion.
4. Bury FC/FSSB Websites
The Board reviewed progress on the website project. A phased approach was agreed: the current website will continue to support immediate needs, including membership activity, while longer-term options for a more interactive and commercially effective website are explored.
5. Youth Advisory Board
The Board approved the launch of a Youth Advisory Board on a trial basis. This will give younger supporters a structured way to share views and contribute ideas, while remaining advisory rather than decision-making.
6. Financial
The Board reviewed the current financial position and agreed that members should receive clearer financial updates with appropriate context. It was agreed in principle that future financial reporting to members should be provided quarterly, once the format and content have been agreed.
7. Finance and Risk Committee
The Board approved the Terms of Reference for the Finance and Risk committee which will support the Board with financial oversight and risk management.
8. Membership project
The membership project remains a key priority. Work continues on Fanbase functionality, member data, compliance, website integration and future membership tiers.
