Summary of the FSSB Board Meeting –  Wednesday 19 August 2026

The FSSB Board met on 19 August 2026, with eight members in attendance and one member absent with apologies.

Key points of discussion included the following:

1.     Conflicts of Interest

One Director declared explained that his company may become dormant/liquidated soon, which could result in his directorship ending.

2.     Membership

The Board received an update on plans to improve the membership process. Moving membership sign-ups to Fanbase would make joining easier and allow membership and ticketing information to be better linked. The Board approved the overall Membership Project plan

3.     Pound for the Ground

Following feedback from members, the Board agreed that, where possible, Pound for the Ground contributions should be linked to specific projects so supporters can clearly see how funds are being used.

4.     South Stand

Early work is continuing to explore the potential development of the South Stand. Initial drawings have been produced, but professional structural advice is now required before the project can move further. The next stage will assess structural viability, likely costs, planning requirements and timescales. The Board agreed that a small project team should take this work forward.

5.     Financial Performance

The Board reviewed the current financial position, and the financial performance remains positive. Season ticket income has almost reached the stretch target, with half-season ticket sales expected to help achieve the overall target. Sponsorship is ahead of forecast. Pre-season gate income was also ahead of expectations. The Board thanked staff and volunteers for their contribution to these results.

6.     Ticketing

Following supporter feedback, the requirement to select a seat when buying tickets online is set to be removed for future matches where tickets are not already on sale.

7.     Pitch Perimeter

A report has identified risks associated with the concrete perimeter around the pitch at Gigg Lane as part of the scheme to reduce the risks across non league clubs. Required improvements have been identified and are expected to receive 100% funding through the FA Premier League funding scheme. Work needs to be completed by the end of March and a project team is being formed to progress the work.

8.     Club Shop

A new stock-ordering process will be trialled following strong kit sales, and the Board also supported plans for an eBay shop selling surplus match-worn kits.
